Human impacts on disease systems

We study how anthropogenic changes to the environment affect the ecology of vector-borne diseases and ultimately impact disease risk for humans and wildlife. Our research focuses mainly on tick-borne disease ecology, including how factors such as urbanization, nonnative plant invasion, and forest fires affect disease risk.
